Electron Microprobe Laboratory

The Electron Microprobe Laboratory is a campus-wide and regional analytical and imaging facility available to University of California, Davis, students, faculty, and staff, as well as off-campus users.

The centerpiece of our laboratory is a Cameca SX-100 electron microprobe, purchased in 2002 with funds from the National Science Foundation and the UC Davis Office of Research. We can provide training for those who would like to operate the instrument themselves, or we can analyze samples you send to us.

The Electron Microprobe Lab is operated by the UCD Geology Department and is located in Room 96, Physics/Geology Building. For more information and scheduling, please contact:
